    New to Java

Hi, I'm new to Java. I'm looking for a few people who could supply some good tutorials for me to start off with. And maybe some books that are really good to learn by.

    Re: New to Java

If you do a search on the Java forum using "books" or "tutorials" you should get some threads which list some good books. My favorite places to go for Java are
    http://www.onjava.com/ and http://forum.java.sun.com/index.jspa

This site's kind of old, but it's really good:

    Code:
    http://chortle.ccsu.ctstateu.edu/CS151/cs151java.html
I went through those lessons and they were very helpful.

I liked Java in a NUTSHELL by O'REilly but most of it is basically concepts..

And then there's JAVA Swing 2D by.... ummm.... sori.. forgot the author.. I don't have the book with me.

and then I finally graduated and started on THE API!!!...LOL..
