Re: internet connection
What software is she running at her house? Do you mean that you want to share her Internet Connection? The speed will only be less then 56K, and you will have to pay for the call. If you have XP, you should be able to dial into it.

Re: internet connection
Probably a Virtual Private Network (VPN) connection to dial into her machine, and turn on Internet Connection Sharing on her machine. You might want to get that running with the machines in the same room. The vpn will work locally thru a network, as wil the ICS. Someone else might have a better idea, but I think this would work.
What OS do you have running on the other end?

Re: internet connection
That should work fine. You could even share her connection, but at 56K, you might not want to.

Re: internet connection
The router should be irrelevant since you must hook directly into her machine through her modem.
Her machine is going to do all the processing, both sending and receiving, and thats alot of data to manage (so the machine better be pretty decent).

Re: internet connection
kulitag, could you please elaborate a bit? I have read through this thread but don't really understand what it is you are asking?
- Do you want to connect remotely to another machine via the Internet and control it?
- Or do you want to transfer files using a Web or FTP server.
- Or do you want to allow many machines to use the same broadband connection simultaneously?
dglienna, this has nothing to do with dial up. So could we try and keep it on topic?

Re: internet connection
VA - Read #1 and #3. He wants to know how his boss had it set up to get access from his aunts DSL. Anyways, kulitag, what's the status?
Do you have any more questions?
