About Quick Reply [RESOLVED]
It showed up last night for at least a few hours. I posted a comment just to check it out. Now, I notice that it's gone again?
Was it a trial situation? It was pretty big for quick add. I think it should have been only 3 or 4 lines.

Re: What happened to Quick Add?
Basically its the same window as the Reply page but you can reply without having to navigate to another
"reply" page. Also, it had a double vertical cheveron round button to either keep it dropped down (default) or closed
up just like the top level forums have.
Yes, it was a temporary test only.

Re: What happened to Quick Add?
It's back now, and I have a request.
Could it be below the tree-ad? I use it to get to threads more often than i'll be using quick add.
Thanks.

Re: About Quick Reply
I'm not sure that the general consensus will be the same. The idea of the quick reply is that you can see the posts above it - moving it down would reduce the effect.
I have noticed that if you minimise the quick reply (with the button on the top-right corner of it) the setting is remembered when you open another thread.

Re: About Quick Reply
That might work. I noticed that it opens when I click the Quick Reply. If it stays minimized, that would solve things.
EDIT: It opens for the next thread. Maybe it could be changed?

Re: About Quick Reply
As you may remember, changes to the forum software usually wont be done. In this case all you have to do
if you want it to stay closed is to close it back up after your done replying/viewing. Not really worth the
effort and trouble for a hack.

Re: About Quick Reply
The shortcut button next to the Reply button is nothing more then a call to the dropdown button for the QR.
So if you drop it down using either of the two buttons then theres no difference.
After you post your reply and your viewing the thread, click the double dropdown cheveron arrow button to
close it back up. Then that setting will be remembered until you drop it down again. It works the same way as the
dropdowns for the top level forums, etc.

Lovely, a much appreciated feature, thanks.
I use Microsoft Visual Basic 2005 . (Therefore, most code samples I provide will be based around the .NET Framework v2.0, unless otherwise specified)

Re: About Quick Reply
Actualy I had asked Joe if it was possible to get a couple of new features but the Quick Reply was the only feature
available in our version.
Its still being turned on as a longer test so we shall see if it gets to stay.

Re: About Quick Reply
Would you happen to know the cookie name? I have cleared a few of them, but cannot get it to stick. Maybe something messed up because I used it the other day?
For some reason, every QR boxes is in EDIT mode when I view a thread. I don't have to click anything. I can just start typing.

Re: About Quick Reply
Your saying that if you click on the dropdown to close up the QR and navigate to other pages it doesnt stay closed up?
It should be in this position before you go to another page.

Re: About Quick Reply
Correct, but in addition, the box is editable/enabled for every thread.
The chevrons go down, but when I open an new thread, they are up again.

Thanks for the new feature. Saves a lot of time, although I'm still getting out of the habit of clicking Post Reply and then quickly pressing escape.

Re: About Quick Reply
I've tracked down the cookie in question, it is:
host: www.vbforums.com
Name: vbulletin_collapse
The value changes to reflect your setting.
It is slightly different to the rest for this site, the others have a host of vbforums.com (with no www.)
