Question on reps
Which reputation link actually gives the person rep points. The "Rate This Post" or the pic?

Re: Question on reps
I mainly asked this because sometimes people get 0 rep points, and sometimes actually do get points. Kinda like what I get sometimes.

Re: Question on reps
Hover over each and they have the same hyperlink, so they are both the same. Perhaps the person giving you reputation points forgot to actually allocate reputation points ?

Re: Question on reps
A gray box has no points, as the user is a newbie that hasn't made 20 posts yet. I have a collection of them that I'd like to return

Re: Question on reps
As dglienna eludes, there are times when people aren't allowed to allocate points either positive or negative, but can still "rate" a post. If a person has not been on the forum long, if they don't have enough posts, or if they have a reputation below a certain level (such as a negative reputation), then they are not allowed to allocate points. These people can, however, still select to rate a post as positive or negative to show their opinion. Their rating simply doesn't impact your reputation.
Clear as mud?
Brad!
