PM message size
Ok - I'm probably a "long talker" (I think there are SNL skits about me)...
But 2000 bytes is simply not enough - I've overloaded that on several PM's in the past.
This time I at least realized I could COPY/PASTE it into multiple messages!
How about a boost to 4000 - maybe for people with a certain post count level at least?
Please?

Therefore, since brevity is the soul of wit,
And tediousness the limbs and outward flourishes,
I will be brief.

Re: PM message size
Marty - getting a response from you first is pretty much a NO!
Oh well...
I get e-mails from people sometimes - and I do not like to respond in the e-mail realm - the forum is more appropriate for sharing information.
I'll cope

The real funny part is, it takes him three lines to say "I'll keep this short."

Re: PM message size
The size had been bumped up in the past. I agree with Marty -- Private messages should be kept short. After all, it is the public sharing of information that makes the forum valuable to all of us!

I agree.
That's basically the way I started the PM - telling the person we should do it on board so everyone could benefit...

Actually, when I get a PM, what you just posted is all I ever say. Marty and Brad could shorten the length, and it wouldn't have much affect on me. When I first joined, I used to ramble on and answer PM questions to the best of my ability until it suddenly dawned on me that only one person was ever going to read what I was posting, and that, as has been pointed out, defeats the purpose of the forums.
