Pegasus Capital Gold
Hello,
I was wondering if anybody knew what language Pegasus Capital Gold is written in. I have a friend who uses Capital Gold & has recently stopped being able to view the drop-down lisis that display things like multiple addresses etc. I thought that if anybody had knowledge of this accounting program they might be albe to explain what might have gone wrong with the PC's software to stop him from being able to view the drop-down part of these drop-down combo boxes.
If anybody could help solve this mystery, I'd be very grateful.
Yours sincerely,
Sam

Re: Pegasus Capital Gold
For further information, the version of Capital Gold that is running is 3.53. I beleive that the computer might be missing some files or .dlls that enable it to accomplish certain tasks (such as view drop-down menus). These tasks seem to be common ones - reinstalling the Capital Gold program does not make the menus work & so I assume that the operating system is missing a file that enables it to view such menus.
I hope that this helps & I wonder whether someone might venture a hypothesis of what might be happening.
Thanks
Sam

Re: Pegasus Capital Gold
Do you have the visual basic runtime files on that machine? it can't hurt to install them. look for vbrunXX.dll where XX is a number of the version.

Re: Pegasus Capital Gold
I'd like to think that this will help & I'll be sure to take your advice but I'm not yet sure whether Capital Gold has anything to do with Visual Basic.
Furthermore, might it be an idea to install all versions of these modules?
Thanks

Re: Pegasus Capital Gold
If you can't call to get support, start with any version labelled the FULL VERSION and not an UPDATE.
if there is none, then start with the lowest version, and see if things work. then increment versions. if the initial program had combo's then they should work with that version. Apply them incrementally. Hopefully you will get the missing files.

That's great advice, thanks.
I'll keep you posted, but, for now, could you tell me the best place to get this from?
Thanks again

Re: Pegasus Capital Gold
Reinstalling the software didn't work. I'll have to check to see whether I was putting a full version or an upgrade on but I'm fairly sure it was the full version. My answers to this are:
1 The computer is missing a file that does not need to be installed with the software
2 I am installing a client version on te PC in question as the accounting data is on a server. That said, surely the client version should enable the program to work unless the problem is 1.
