mscomm and internet transfer control
is it possible to use mscomm and internet transfer control in one program? i'm working on a program that uses mscomm to connect to a server but i don't know how to send "username" and "password" to that server. so can i use internet transfer control username and password properties? thanks in advance!=)

Why no juz use the Winsock/Inet control to connect from the remote PC to the Server. The MSComm is not a good media for file transfer.

do you mean that it is totally impossible to use mscomm and intet together? because all i really need to do is connect to that server and pass username and password to it. the program is actually very similar to windows dial up. can i do the same using winsock/inet? thanks again.

Noop, I didn't said that, both can run at the same time, 'coz they did not overlap each other. What the purpose mfor you to submit the User ID and Password to the server?
It is for the file sharing? It is both client and Server are locate at the same LAN or both locate at different place.

just like in windows dial up, i am sending "username" and "password" to connect to that computer/so that i will be give access to that computer...

So you use mscomm for dial ext modem and you can't close port because it'll hang yp your call, Am I right?

Definitely you can't close the Comm port.
