    VB Service Pack 5/6 error

Hey, I'm running Win 2K, VB6. I need to install a service pack to use access 2000 databases but when I try to install either SP 5 or 6 for VB, i get the following errors (one for each of the exe's)

What windows service pack do you have 4?

I have windows 2000 sp4 so I know it definetely should work ok and its not the OS. Have you tried re-downloading the service pack (if its not too big)

I beleive the item you actually need is something like the MDAC package. I dont think the DAO, ADO objects are a part of the service pack.

Just sorted it. For future reference, i had to copy the autoexec.nt file off my windows installation disc before I could install the VB SP and now I can connect to access poifectly

Same problem you had, did what you did, new error message. What did you do to the autoexec.nt_ file?

You have to rename it. Take off the ending underscore (.nt_)
