Use a Timer control, or the GetTickCount function (if you don't like using Timers).

When you use timers, things may get a bit slow, though,
i think that it might be best. because, figuring out
ideas to get moving pictures on the screen without timers,
(i mean real smooth moving pictures), that may take a lot
of thinking and hard coding.
so if you're not going to write a game to really sell and
distribute on the market, i can help you out.
if you want examples of code i can e-mail to you. ;-)
