Hotmail
OK... I have encountered the most bizzarre thing:
My client's computer will not log into Hotmail with her Hotmail account. I can log into my Hotmail account on her computer. And I can log into her Hotmail account on my computer!
I have cleared cookies, history, Temporary Internet Files, reset Internet Explorer settings... still no go.
After you click to sign in with her account it goes to a loading screen and just sits there. It seems to load her account ok through Hotmail section of the MSN Today window in MSN Messenger.
Any ideas ?

Re: Hotmail
is it blocking a popup? is she logging in at the homepage, using her passport account? can she log on from anywhere else? that does seem odd, but there must be more to it.

Re: Hotmail
I don't think it's blocking a popup... And she's on Windows 98, and I don't think there is a popup blocker installed.
She's logging into Hotmail from the hotmail.com site... if I go to the Passport website it will let me log into her passport just fine.
I can log into my account just fine... and she can log in to her account on my computer.
Bizzarre... So far the only things I can think of trying is to reinstall Internet Explorer... but that doesn't explain how I can get into my account.... I could also maybe install Firefox and see if that will load it.
Are there any other places that passport info is stored on Windows 98 (she was using a saved password) ? The only other thing I can think of is that it's not able to display some flash ad (upgrade flash?, still doesn't explain why I can't log in) or perhaps a preticular message has some sort of attachment that it doesn't like. I shall dump the Inbox and see if that does anything.
Still, this feels like like I'm grasping at nothing here....

Re: Hotmail
Is she up to date on Windows Updates? They changed things around a while ago, and some users had this problem. Can't remember off-hand the exact cause, but I think it was solved by Windows Update.
Try creating a new account on that machine to see if you can get it.

Re: Hotmail
Try FireFox.
If it does work then it is obviously an IE issue. If it still doesn't work then it is a PC specific problem.
By the way, IE6 does now have a popup blocker but I can't imagine that being the issue as Hotmail.com doesn't have any popups
