Make a macro in Excel to read a number & translate it as a formula
Hi all,
Is there anyone can help me to make a macro in Excel to read a number.
For example : Cell A1 is a number 100.50
Can I type a formula in Cells A2, The result is "One hunded fifty cent" or "One hunded fifty cent US$ Dollars" ?
Thank a lot .

What your going to need to do is write some vba code behind sheet1. Maybe use the SelectionChange event. Then
have it check A1 and split the number on the commas.
Then do a select case translating the elements to their proper verbiage.

<creepy voice>The answer lies in the past...</creepy voice>
Its been discussed before (I have the code somewhere, but I think it should still be in a forum thread (search at the top).
Or, for a novel (sp?) approach, try writing down how you would do it normally (ie your perspective).
Then change it into pseudeo (sp?) code
Then finally look up some VBA/VB functions (string manipulation, case statements etc..)
<sarcasm below - beware>
OR goto your tutor and say 'Help! pls... pretty pls!!' or 'Please tell me where I can look apart from the help files...'
I say the code is of no use because if we post it to you, then you copy it and thats all. If you write it, make mistakes and correct them you learn. And if you learn when asked to manipulate anything with strings, you ... will ... be ... able ... to !!!
(sorry if I offended you)
