Question Embedding outlook items into other forms

Does anybody know how I can embedd an email item into a task? it woudl be the equivalent of dragging the email into the opened task form. I haven't been able to track down the object I can use to do this.

    many thanks,
    Lj.

    Welcome to the Forums.

Here is how you would do it.

    VB Code:
    1. Option Explicit
    2. 'Add a reference to MS Outlook xx.0 Object Library
    3. Private Sub Command1_Click()
    4.     Dim oApp As Outlook.Application
    5.     Dim oNS As Outlook.NameSpace
    6.     Dim oTask As Outlook.TaskItem
    7.     Dim oEmail As Outlook.MailItem
    8.     Set oApp = New Outlook.Application
    9.     Set oNS = oApp.GetNamespace("MAPI")
    10.     Set oTask = oApp.CreateItem(olTaskItem)
    11.     oTask.Subject = "Attached Email"
    12.     oTask.Save
    13.     Set oEmail = oApp.CreateItem(olMailItem)
    14.     oEmail.Subject = "Test"
    15.     oEmail.Save
    16.     oTask.Attachments.Add oEmail, olByValue, 1, oEmail.Subject
    17.     oTask.Save
    18.     oTask.Display
    19. End Sub
