Wireless Internet Access
I'm pretty certain the answer to this question is yes, but I want to be completely certain.
Most companys have firewalls set up to deal with internet access. If you were to purchase a laptop with wireless internet access, brought it into work, could you access the internet totally independent of whatever firewall your company has established?

Re: Wireless Internet Access
Depends on where you are getting the signal from. If the wireless router is in front of the firewall, you are screwed. If it is behind (before) the firewall, you are probably in luck. If you have some other service that provides wireless, and there aren't too many factors of interference in the office, you have a 50/50 shot.

Re: Wireless Internet Access
Ok, that makes sense.
This was more of a curosity question than anything else. It came up over lunch Tuesday so I though I'd see if anyone had any practical experience with this.
Thanks for the reply.
