WEIRD problem
Apparently computers get pissed if you unhook the monitor. I unhooked mine to hook it up to my laptop as a second monitor, and now it won't work on my original computer!
Here's what happens:
*hooks up monitor
*presses start
*text, etc, shows up
*windows logo shows up (I suspect this is the problem) "loading windows"
*Monitor goes blank
*Monitor informs me connection lost
*me kicks monitor
***?!?!?!

Re: WEIRD problem
try Safe Mode. The driver could be confused. It is a good sign to see the Windows Logo.

That sounds like someone installed the wrong drivers or they have become corrupt. Safe mode it

I think I said that quite a while ago. So, did it work?

Re: WEIRD problem
Safe mode worked. But how do I fix it so I can get back on my account? One thing I don't know much about is the behind-the-scenes of windows, so this is all new to me.

My windows user account. I'd prefer not to delete it... so sentimental...
Oh wait, doesn't it ask me to move all my files? (Such as, oh, all the stuff I've ever programmed sitting in a folder on my desktop)

Re: WEIRD problem
You can actually copy the profile to the desktop, and then create a new account, where you can import the settings. It's not 100%, but is about as close as you can get to saving everything. M$ walked me through it when I installed SP2 unsucessfully the first couple of times.

Re: WEIRD problem
I always try to create a new account in safe mode, before I do anything drastic.
