[Serious] Ok Hackers....
... I have VB5. My college no longer carries VB6. I want to compile my exe's in VB6 format using VB5 somehow. Would getting VB6 versions of C2.exe and Link.exe help me do this or is there something else I need to do?

you'd also need vb6.exe as that's what you call to do the compiling...

Re: [Serious] Ok Hackers....
I thought that VB uses just those two exe files to compile the code into an exe. Could someone do me a favor and upload the VB6 versions of those two files here for me. I'm gonna do an experiment when I get home. Thanks.

Is it still illegal if it's the output from your program that selects data on your disc 'at random' and you're showing it off?
Don't pay attention to this signature, it's contradictory.

Re: [Serious] Ok Hackers....
Look, all I'm asking for is the exe files that compile your code. I don't think it's illegal because I already own them, and all I'm getting is an upgrade to them. Upgrading shouldn't cost anything. I mean look at McAfee that upgrades all the time, and IE, and Mozilla, etc etc etc. So technically it wouldn't be illegal. I can prove to you I have the files if ya want before anybody sends me the upgrades.

Re: [Serious] Ok Hackers....
Why do you want to compile as vb6?
Why not compile them using vb5?

No, I haven't downloaded music or anything else illegal. If it costs money and I can't afford to pay for it I don't have it. The thing here, is that it is illegal because it isn't a free upgrade to go from VB5 to VB6.

Like mentioned earlier, Visual Basic is not free. If you want to download these files Jacob then look for them on the Microsoft site, if they are not there then this means you are not allowed to download them.
Also, using the forums as a means to obtain these files will be in violation of the AUP so I am requesting that other members do not upload them here or post links to sites where you can find them.
