Bios changing Cpu BaseX/Frequency without asking :)
My bios is nice, I can essentially overclock my cpu from the bios as there are NO!! jumpers on my mobo. Well just 2 to set the CPU voltage.
For some reason I checked it and I haven't looked at that in years, it was clocked down to a 233mhz, but I KNOW this is a 333mhz.
So I change it back, and I do notice a difference, but it seems that the bios wants to keep it at 233 cause it goes back now and then....
Why?

Not NoteMe
Re: Bios changing Cpu BaseX/Frequency without asking :)
Maybe the BIOS is detecting that it's running too hot, and so slows it down??

If it has automatic detection heat control, then as SLH, only if it is too hot in there then it runs in default mode in 233

Well since heat-sync fan on the cpu chip has been pretty well dead for 5+ years, the power packs fan dies out after 2 hours of consecutive use.
I do have a big 12V fan spliced onto some spare power wires, it keeps the place cool
