start in safe mode, then with minimal components, and then enable one device at a time until you figure out which needs a driver.

Try turning off the automatic restart option in Windows XP so you can get an idea of what's causing the problem to occur.

    You can do this by...

    1. Open the system properties dialog (Right-click My Computer -> Properties)
    2. Click the Advanced tab.
    3. Under Startup and Recovery, click Settings.
    4. Uncheck the Automatically restart option, accept all the dialogs and reboot if prompted.

This will allow you to see what is causing Windows to restart i.e. the Stop error and so you can diagnose it a little easier.
I use Microsoft Visual Basic 2005. (Therefore, most code samples I provide will be based around the .NET Framework v2.0, unless otherwise specified)

I had a similar problem! The problem was a bad RAM Module. Everytime I booted (Win98), I got a message the registry was corrupt and I had to reboot. This message never went away and I could not use the system! I swapped out the RAM and it went away.
Nobody knows what software they want until after you've delivered what they originally asked for.
