[serious]Need story ideas...
I'm gonna sign up for a writing contest in my school that offers a cash reward, and i'm a fiction writer, but my brain hasn't been on for weeks now and i need some ideas...i like medeval(sp?) stuff for some reason, and futuristic works well too... what would be a good plot that could win me some money?

how about a knight who goes into the future, the twist ending could be that he was dead all along and the little boy could see him because he saw ghosts.

how about a guy with a disability who was a knight in the King Arthurs era and he tells the story of he and his mates trying to defend a fortified castle that was under siege.
now the trick is to throw monty pythons humor with Home Alone kinda traps.

You could just grab a headline from today's news and turn the clock back on the story and make it happen in medieval times.

Re: [serious]Need story ideas...
A Guy and His GF take their pack of housepets, a Golden Retriever, a White Angora, a Siamese, and a Chiuahua on a Christmas Vacation to Tour an old Salt Mine over a 3 day weekend.
They Pack up presents, a christmas tree, food, clothing, and plan on haveing a Nice old fashioned candlelit celebration in the dark murky depths of the mines assorted caverns and tunnels.
Unfortunately, while there, the GF gets a callfrom work, she'll have to come back early, and the Vacation will have to be cut short.
So on the only day they have, they set out to make the most of it.
While getting set up, the animals take off, running loose throughout the cavern, having a high old time.
The Couple heads out to round em up, but shockingly discover their Retriever a bloody mess, a pile of oozing guts and gore...
They fail to find their other pets, and suspect the worst.
They get A local retired town sheriff to help investigate this tragedy, and over the next day, nothing develops, except they fleetingly glance a sinister character every now and then in the gloom of the mine.
Finally, on the last day, as they are about to give up, from the depths of the darkness emerges...
The Golden retriever, tongue hanging goofily out of his mouth, obviously smiling. The other pets emerge, each dragging, pushing, carrying assorted Presents that had disappeared from their festive Christmas encampment!
The Mysterious Lurker also emerges, Brother to the GF.
All is cleared up, the Brother explains that the Pets thought up this stunt and contacted him to help out. {Apparently, he provided the gore to dress up the Golden Retriever, fooling the couple entirely.}
This was the best Christmas ever!
