I'm picking up on a new hobby. Here are the turntables I plan on buying. I'm gonna get me two of these:



This is the Technics SL1210 MK5 Turntable, and they run at about $499. Need like $1000 for two, plus I need more money for a mixer. I think I'm gonna call myself DJ Psycho

That's a lot of money to spend on a new hobby!

Unless you've done it quite a bit before (like on friends decks) I would recommend going for much simpler equipment to start with. Just get yourself reasonable secondhand decks & mixer - you can apparently get a decent setup for about 1/5 of the price. Until you know what you are doing (which could take a while) the extra quality wont make any difference.

My memory might be a bit dodgy here, but I think my (non-famous) DJ friends have said that the MK4 is supposed to be better than the MK5 (even though it is older & cheaper).

Now I have one question. Where the hell can I find some ICP vinyls?!! I've looked everywhere and haven't seen any. Wouldn't mind picking me up Riddlebox and The Great Milenko.
