We have wrote two app in .Net, the boss made us rewrite one in VB6!
And get mad every time something happens on the one .net we still have!
(he can not read it)

You could put a business case together for why .Net would make the company more effective/better than the competition. You've have to include current costs and new costs though. Apart from your boss being 'scared' of .Net its probably training costs which are bugging him.
Or alternative get a brand spanking new job somewhere else that is .Net compliant! (but I bet experience then becomes an issue??)

Go over his head to report your findings to the next up on the list, explaining that they need a creative thinker to guide them into the next decade, and that you want the job. if it doesn't work and they fire you, well, you tried.
