We use SPEED RAZOR at our shop here - very professional - very nice.

What do you have for video capture equipment - usually you get the hardware/software in a bundle.

Pinacle Studio 8 is an ok app. It is rather cheap and does most of what regular users need. And comes with lots of plug-ins for those who are more demandig. But it doesn't edit anything in the "frame". If you need that you need a more advanced app Adobe Premiere. That one is really great. I don't have it my self, but I have a friend that haves it, and he can do amazing things with it. But it has a really steep learning path. It is LOTS of tools and buttons and so on.

    1) Pinnacle Studio 9.3
    2) Adobe Premiere Pro 7.0

These two programs are the best for video editing!

Pinnacle Studio has also some very very good effects, called Hollywood FX and i think it is in 6.0 version!

    Sorry NoteMe,
i just posted the exact versions, that are now released!

Also there are trial versions to these products!
As for free products, i don't know any free video editor, only some OEM versions like WinDVD Creator (video editor included)!

Windows Movie Maker 2 will allow you to do very basic editing, it's free but it only encodes to WMA and WMV. Still, if that doesn't matter, and you don't require huge special effects, it's pretty good.
I use Microsoft Visual Basic 2005. (Therefore, most code samples I provide will be based around the .NET Framework v2.0, unless otherwise specified)

    VirtualDub

VirtualDub is a video capture/processing utility for 32-bit Windows platforms (95/98/ME/NT4/2000/XP), licensed under the GNU General Public License (GPL). It lacks the editing power of a general-purpose editor such as Adobe Premiere, but is streamlined for fast linear operations over video. It has batch-processing capabilities for processing large numbers of files and can be extended with third-party video filters. VirtualDub is mainly geared toward processing AVI files, although it can read (not write) MPEG-1 and also handle sets of BMP images.

    Re: Video Editor

If you can, get Adobe Premiere as it's fantastic. Should be able to get it on trial for 30 days (just set your clock to 2010 when you install and you'll have a trial for 5 years )

Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't.
Usually the app will calculate the date 30 days from now and will stop you using it after that date. Course, if that date is 1/2/2010 then that may take a while
    That's what I've heard anyway

Let's stop all this silly posting about how to get around legitimate purchases of a product. It's against the AUP and will get you banned.

Plus it downright wrong - if you can't see that, then I hope the products you develop and sell get pirated!
