Error in a movie file , starts over the movie!

I've some movies that I downloaded and some clips . They have this problem when they reach specific place , they can't proceed anymore and start all over again . skipping that place would work out . So , is there any tool I can use to fix this error in the movie files ?

depending on the codec of the release, you can probably find quite a few programs that would stream the video into either another format and the same, bypassing the file error in original media file. Xvid and Divx , SVCD VCD, are very easy re-encode.
