Linux: Installing ndiswrapper
Since Broadcom has not created drivers for my wireless network card (Linksys WMP54G) for Linux, my searching has led me to believe that I need to install and use ndiswrapper so that it may use the windows drivers.
After reading the instructions for this, I am lost at how to install it (which includes recompiling the Linux source). I'm a total Linux noob, and have no idea what to do. I've tried to follow the installation instructions, but I can't even find the Linux source, let alone figure out how to compile it.
Installation instructions are here: http://ndiswrapper.sourceforge.net/wiki/Installation
Any help?

Off-hand, I'd suggest you stick with Windows...
Nobody knows what software they want until after you've delivered what they originally asked for.

The source code should be under /usr/src
You may need to get it per the Prerequisites
You need a recent kernel (at least 2.6.6 or 2.4.26) with source. Under Red Hat or Mandrake, the sources can be installed using the package kernel-source<kernel-version>.rpm.
...just in case sticking with (MS)Windows is not an option. Welcome to X Windows.

I'm doing a (free) operating system (just a hobby, won't be big and professional like gnu) for 386(486) AT clones. ... and it probably never will support anything other than AT-harddisks, as that's all I have :-(.

Question. Do you know that the character "?" means I'm asking a question? Question. Do you know that spoken inflection also provides the same cue? So please don't say, "Question" before you ask your question. Believe me I'll know.
That said, I would have said this first if it had to precede what I'm telling you now. Having said that, what I'm telling you now is the same thing I just said about the annoying phrases "That said" and "Having said that".
