    Changing filter on MouseOver?

    well I have this menu, that when I move my mouse over the menu top, the menu is diplayed below...
    I just don't want the menu to pop up there, I would like it to do a nice fade in. Probably in some sort of loop from 0 to 100% opacity(step 10 or something). But then I don't really know how to apply a filter style to the menu from a variable?

    or how would I go about doing this? ^_^ ?
