    Encryption

    first of all how do i read n write simple text files in vb n secondly how do i encrypt/decrypt data in those text files

    First of all, here is a link to CAPICOM, which is M$'s security .dll that will encrypt and decrypt information for you using a variety of methods.

    And PINO did a pretty good job explaining the basics of files. There are a couple of ways to do it, but once you learn one way, the others are easier to grasp.

    hi dglienna
    well after my second post i started to search the forum n once again found ur discussion with sum1 on copicom, i downloaded it from micrsoft site, tried that sample but it gives the erorr
    "ActiveX component can't create object"
    i search that thread again n sum1 wrote that this code won't work on windows2000 n infact am using 200 advanced server, wat do i do now ?
