Well, my experience is that girls in my age are freaking out if you say woman or dame to them. Here in Norway they are not women or dames before they are 35++ and married and has celulite...

So it would be OK for them to talk about you and your friends as "boys"? Oh, and BTW the last time someone in the US called a women a dame was back in the 30's.

I know it is an old term in English. But in Norwegian it is still used all the time. Like you guys still say Sir. But we don't anymore (or at least not much).
And yes it is OK to call me a boy. The only time someone called me a man was a 4 year old kid in a store, that said something like: "Look at that man". Except that, NO ONE has called me a man yet.
Girls don't want to feel old, something that they would feel in our age if you call them a woman. My sister is 29 now, and she is still a girl for me and the rest of our family, and her friends. My mom that is 50++ is barely a woman...

I think most of us can interact normally with some women (the ones obsessed with reality TV shows and Vodka-based alcopops). All you have to do is shift your brain down into 1st gear (or in extreme cases, neutral or reverse) and nod or laugh occasionally, then you wait until you are both a bit drunk and things go from there. Easy but not satisfying in any way.
The good bit is when you find a lass that has [metaphor alert] ported vents, 6 forward gears, a spoiler and comfy back seats. First thing I usually do is make sure that she has not had 'work' done (respray or replacement fenders) and is normally aspirated. Sometimes you find that the clutch is nicely worn in. Bonus.
Then you park up in the next spot at the bar, flash your headlights and try an overtaking maneouvre.
Also, women hate being described in terms of car parts, so don't ever listen to a word I say.
