I'm sure it's really bad practice, but how or why can't I open plain text files with an activex dll that's running on an IIS server? It does not seem to like me accessing anything other then whats in the wwwroot.

i'm trying to open a text file in M:\PNTDATA but I get error 75 file/path access.. Is this a security issue? The only other option I have is write a nother program that opens the text file and dumps contents into a sql server and get it that way, but that's just another component that can break down and it's a waste of my time. Any clues?
