i looked at the msn object and api but there is no way to retrieve text
i want to make it so when someone types "/tvguide param(0)" i want to act on that

Anyways, what you are after is writting a plugin.
If you want to type /Moose (0) or something and then messenger does something, then a plugin is what you need to write.

This is VERY hard, and I'm not even sure if VB can do it

yeah its possible, pretty easy you have to use MSN plus thou not just MSN, if you look aoruynd the site it has the API to download and u just look throu the samples, it teahces you how to make your own commands and stuff
