What is an alluminati? Is that someone who takes allum intravenously?
Glad you re-opened this loser of a thread, now I can vote for Intel to yank your chain. Just like Bush vs. Kerry, it really isn't about who you like better, it's about who you want to vote against.
I doubt there'll be a war over this, I really don't care, and I can't see anybody else getting worked up over it. Cander will post just to be rude, Bodwad will lift his leg on either, Mendhak will post some sage drivel, Woka will turn the discussion to arse battering, and NoteMe will switch it to general S&M. Where's the war in all that? Now if we were to start talking about evolution......
I now have one AMD, and three Intel, but I will be getting rid of at least one of the Intel ones (anybody want an old 233MMX? Still has a 5.25" drive!).

People fighting wars over CPU's are going to feel dumb when the next big thing comes in and trashes their CPU of choice.

Did you know the AMD 2.2 GHz is just as fast as the Pentium 4 3.4 GHz? It's been proven.

I couldn't care less about what CPU I have, as long as I have a fully running GPU that has all the body parts it needs...

I wasn't asking about Illuminati, I've heard of them. What is that Alluminati?
My usual boring signature: Nothing

It's an aluminum alloy (misspelled above) found in nature - therefore alumi-nati.

I wouldn't put too much faith in benchmarks because for the most part they are complete bull.

I'm not saying I like one more than the other, but supercomputers are not used for gaming and there is proof that Intel is better for applications.
Like I said, I don't like one better than the other. I have Intel's myself, but my next computer will most likely be AMD due to the cost.
I believe this is correct, but the reason a 2.2GHz AMD is equal to a 3.4GHz Intel is this:
AMD has actual less clock speeds, but performs at the speed it says.
