Smaller .Net Framework Sdk?
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en
106Mb isn't too big but on a dial up connection it's take four hours to dl. Is there a smaller version that dosen't contain all of the added bloat?

No there isn't, you need that if you are going to be developing apps. There is the smaller 22mb .NET redistributable, but thats for packing with your app.

Yeah i did notice that redistributable on microsofts downloads page. I guess i will either have to get a friend to dl the framework or just buy an ide that contains it. Thanks.

Re: Smaller .Net Framework Sdk?
You don't need the full SDK to start .NET the 30 meg Runtime will also work.
You will however be missing the documentation and some tools like tlbImp,tlbExp (which you won't care about at this early a stage).
Once you've installed the runtime search for csc.exe, that's your command line compiler, or you could use SharpDevelop a nice open source IDE.
