Data Migration [ resolved ]
What would be the easiest way to transfer roughly 50gb of information to a new computers hard drive? Some people suggested I just connect the new hard drive to the new computer, but I can tell that this old hard drive is going to die soon so I need to transfer it. 70-80% of it is things I NEED and cannot afford to just give up.

Re: Data Migration
put the old drive in the new computer, and copy it there. that should be the easiest way to do it. it's also not hard to network two machines, but, there could be issues.

Re: Data Migration
Put them both in the same computer and ensure the old one is the slave (i.e. not the booting drive). Then copy your data across. It's a much better method because it's quicker and doesn't require mucking around with stuff (software settings etc.) and it doesn't tie up your network, which 50GB would do.
I use Microsoft Visual Basic 2005. (Therefore, most code samples I provide will be based around the .NET Framework v2.0, unless otherwise specified)
