For a minor amount of humour, check out the 'Jesusified' version of VB-World...
http://www.askjesus.org/ask.cgi?http://vb-world.com
You know the drill, just copy and paste the above.
*** WARNING ***
Do not wage holy war on me for this - this is for comedy value only. If you don't like people taking the p*ss out of religion - DON'T GO AND LOOK!!!!!
For the more enlightened amongst us you may also wish to Jesusify Microsoft or AltaVista.
One can only wonder how large a can of worms I've opened here...
Gentile or Jew,
O you who turn the wheel and look to windward,
Consider Phlebas, who was once handsome and tall as you...

This is the kind of thing that makes me uneasy. It's not
right to make fun of non-hypocritical beliefs.

OK, which bit of - "This is just for comedy value only" did you NOT understand and I'll go through it with you step-by-step.
I vaguely remember typing "If you don't like people taking the p*ss out of religion - DON'T GO AND LOOK!!!!!"
But I reckon you went and looked didn't you?

Arbiter, you just don't get it, do you? "Just Joking" is
not a defense.
Don't look if you're offended????? Well, lots of people
were offended by racial injustice in the US 50 years ago.
They didn't look either.
"Rip his balls off" ... yeah, I guess the term "makes me
uneasy" qualifies for a full-blown, balls-to-the-wall,
diatribe consigning Arbiter to the deepest, darkest parts
of whatever hell he believes in.
Me thinks the man protesteth too much

Two very funny films about religion
Dogma And the life of brian.
Now I don't really believe too much in religion, but if people need to believe in something then fair enough, it's their life, let them live it as they like, but if someone want's to make some harmless fun at anything, then so be it, it's not as though what the site does is bad or anything. So let bygone's be bygone's, shake hands anf let this be the end of it

Of course, you're fasting, my apologies.
I wasn't aware you couldn't drink though..
Well, to be honest, as far as I could see I wasn't harming anyone. I wasn't slating anyones beliefs (if anything I'd consider myself Christian) and I wasn't being derogatory.
If people decide to open a whole can of whoop ass, that's up to them. If what I was saying was so nasty - John would remove it.

yep cant do the 3 most wanted things in life while fasting
no food, drink, sex
well personally i was not offended, but i know quite some people on this forum that wil be offended by it
Ianpbaker - maybe to you its sounds harmless to others it may not since that site is directly making fun of christianity
but from looking at it from my own prespective, if someone posted a site that made fun of my belief in such a way
i would be VERY offended, even thou you might have thought it was funny

DerFarm,
Just replying to your comment that saying just joking was no defence. Not sure what I'm defending myself against. Not sure what you meant by your last comment. Sorry.
All,
I'm allowed to post things for the comic relief of others. I'll not apologise for posting it because I didn't feel it was derogatory in any way, shape or form. Freedom of speech and all that.
I also said, if you don't like it - don't look. If you see a video that says "Don't watch this if you don't like violence" on the case you have no grounds to complain if you watch it and don't like the violence. Common sense really.

To be perfectly honest with you, I'm not sure what all the
foo-foo and fairy dust on this thread is about.
My "uneasy" statement was just that. I was uneasy about
the site. I'm much more than uneasy about many sites.
I have a site that I think is particularly hilarious.
Unfortunately, the site is for real. They REALLY, REALLY
mean what they say.
Does this violate my empathy statement. I don't know.
What do you think? http://www.bible.ca/bible.htm
Note that this site IS NOT making fun of anything. These
guys are serious.

Really weird stuff, is this a fundamentalist site or what.
kovan
It's a tradition in the Commonwealth to take the piss out of all forms of authority. Actually went and saw "Life of Brain" with a Priest who laughed all the way through and said at the end that no doubt he would have to condemn it.
In form of Authority that can not laugh at itself is a danger to the rest of us. I bet that Jonestown guy wouldn't have known a joke if it bit him on the arse either.
Good luck with the fasting. We are gearing up for a typical Catholic celebration, lots of food and alcohol, with an equal amount to that spent being sent to Catholic Charaties abroad.

I'm glad to see I brought a little light to a few peoples day.
There isn't a smiley big enough to express how pleased I am that it made some poeple laugh.
I don't think DerFarm was attacking me in any way when he said he was uneasy about it. I mean, let's face it, who isn't uneasy when you're taking the p*ss out of a being that's omniscient?
But it doesn't detract from the fact that it really is cool as!
DerFarm,
How did you find that site? You really have got to wonder what drives these people...
Barrk,
Thanks for the moral support. I was beginning to feel outnumbered...
All,
Whilst 'Jesusifying' (What a cool word!) VB-world I stumbled across the following paragraph
***
Core Visual Basic 5
Check out our gushing review of the only Visual Basic gospel thee shall ever needest to crucify! It covers all topics for producing prostitute commercial-quality code and examples to showest exactly how miracles tarry, a multitude of which canst be dropped directly unto thine projects.
Prayers 06/27/1999

I think that the site that DerFarm posted: http://www.bible.ca/bible.htm
is not only scary, but is as dangerous as pornography and other "traditional" sites that the public does not approve of. I try to think of myself as a some-what conservative person, but wacko sites like that scare the ***** out of me. As a Roman-Catholic (and not a very devoult one at that), I remember as a kid when "those" people used to walk around our neighborhood and I would scare them away by blasting Iron Maiden's Number of the Beast album. They never knocked on my door.
I can't stand it when people preach that sins like homosexuality is going to banish you to hell for all eternity. I think that homo's have a hard enough time here on earth to spend all eternity in hell. Isn't that true Wonder Woman?
