possible to change your ip address?
I want to change my ip address, but I don't know how to do this and don't know if it is possible. I did try an anonymizer program, but it did not work.
So what should I do?

Re: possible to change your ip address?
what are you trying to do. the ann. programs let you surf, and send email with their ip address. you could google for free proxies. use them as your proxy, and their address will be sent.

I'll try what you guys said. Also I'll go ahead and tell you what happend. My brother got on my computer and was playing Medal of Honor online. He got banned from my favorite server for using foul language. They banned our ip address and now I can't join. I just wanted to be able to get a different ip address so I could play.
I'll see if the anonymous proxy server works.

I don't think it's going to work then, because most anonymous proxies work on port 80 as opposed to whatever port MOH uses.

I assume you're not on dial-up then? Maybe ask your ISP if you can have a new one? *shrug* Might work.

Nope not on dial up. Anyways, that sounds like a pretty good idea. If I can't figure out any other way, then that's probably what I'll have to resort too.

Might be a long shot, but why not just contact your ISP and tell them what happened. Explain to them that he will Never again do that, however you would like to re-access the site. Perhaps they will allow you to /release and /renew you address. If not find a way to contact the site you are banned from. If you explain it perhaps they will unblock you.

Re: possible to change your ip address?
How are you getting a static IP address? We pay extra for that!
Why not try unplugging your DSL modem and see if that serves up a new IP when restarted.

Re: possible to change your ip address?
If you have a dynamic ip address unplug and replug your modem, if your on dial-up disconnect then reconnect.
if you have a static ip you can't change it (actually for me the ip changes every few months for by itself some reason.
if you have a dynamic ip address and not connected through a router open a command promt/ms-dos promt and type in
ipconfig
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
ipconfig
