    Resolved A word problem

Globe demand for oil is growing exponentially, described by the model y = 18.9e^.025t , where y = billions of barrels per years, and t = the number of years after 2003.
    A) What will global demand be in 2010?
    B) When will global demand reach 30 billion barrels?

    Thanks for all the help.

    Re: A word problem

This seems like a homework problem and if you've been on this forum long enoug you'll know that these are not readily appreciated.

But anyway...I have nothing better to do so:
    a) in 2010: y = 18.9e^(0.025 x 7) = 18.9e^(0.175)

    b) 30 = 18.9e^0.025t
    then ln(30/18.9) = 0.025t
so therefore demand will reach this figure in:
    [ln(30/18.9)/0.025] + 2003

They are, but she wants me to check them for her! (my woman)
But I have not done any real math in 18 years! So I can not do the problem to check them for my women!

    Thank for the help

Although he should get himself a decent graphic calculator Then he could do this himself.

They are infinitely better than non-graphic ones. I laugh in scorn at those not possessed of one.
