Graphics: Great
Sound: Great
Story: What story?
AI: Sucks
Gameplay: Nothing new and creative
All in all, not worth the wait.

I have been playing a bit more now, and I can't see that the AI sucks....well it is not the best I have seen, but their tactics by throwing back grenades, and jumping in doors and closing them when I shoot them, and jumping out of doors the same moment I am supposed to try to open them is kind of fun.

Graphics: Ut2k4's are better
Sound: Um... good enough
Story: Kinda wierd... i wouldn't say there isn't one, but its not like... "WHOA"
AI: The AI is pretty easy to kill, but it is are more human like than other games...
Gameplay: Linear game... pretty predictable usually.... its amusing throwing objects at the beginning, but that gets old quick... Pretty short game too...
Not worth the wait, and not worth the 55 bucks. While the game is not awful, it isn't this godly thing people worship it to be(as with all games with lots of hype)

Graphics + Gameplay blows Doom III out of the water. However i was not as impressed with the storyline as i thought i would be, and AI isn't very "hard" or relentless at least. I did enjoy throwing cans at guards at the beginning to see them chase me for 5 secs before giving up or getting confused when i jumped a bench.
Still GOOD game.

I hate it when First Person Shooters try to have a story. I just kill anything that moves (or is already dead for my own personal amusment.) That alone satisfies me 100%. Having a story mixed in any FPS makes me say, "Who cares, I'm in a killing mood." You should see me when I play Soldier of Fortune 2. I literally blow everyone's brains out and shoot pieces of skull fragments from their head. On other people, I shoot off limbs or just shoot them 100 times over to make sure their dead. I'm such a violent person sometimes.

When I play these games I usually take a baseball bat and smash the top of the monitor. Then I'll let it drop and roll down a bumpy hill. I'll bet they feel the city breakin and everybody shakin.

I agree totally - Doom II and Quake were perfect in this regard. If I want storyline I will fire up a RPG - Once I strap a gun to my fist I aint interested in anything expect blowing aware everything in range - cut scenes and badly acted dialogue only detract from the bloodfest.
And Dimmu Borgir are great!

Tactics schmactics, you just rush out guns blazing blasting everything that moves including team mates. Who cares about the story?
And Dimmu Borgir are by far and by large better than the mainstream pop/rock/nu metal crap vomited up by marketeers and slick music industry clowns. You can keep it and stuff it where the sun doesn't shine.

How can you think they are cool, thats sad. They just think they are 'hardcore' or something. Ah whatever though, if you like the music, I cant really say anything because its your opinion. But if you like the music because everyone else likes the music and because they way the look....pity.

I downloaded a couple of their songs today and after listening to it, the first thing I though of was "Nirvana". Not in the style of music but the fact that they've got the same chords and riffs in every song, the same howling and whining... bleh. There, I insulted two groups in a single post. I'm on a roll here...

hahaha, you are so right. You are basically saying that they really have no tallent, the riffs are repetitive and arent even impressive, they "howl" and "whine" because they can't sing, and they just look like fruitcakes.

Some of their songs are Norweigan and some are in English. Their old stuff almost sounded the same, IntelSucks. But ever since they came out with the album Puritanical Europhoric Misanthropia, they changed big time. They have blended their Black Metal style with Orchestra and Heavy Metal, which is a good thing.
Download songs like Progenies of the Great Apocalypse, Puritania, Blessings upon the Throne of Tyranny, and Allehelgens Død I Helveds Rike, then you will see what I mean. Be sure to listen to the WHOLE song, not part of it. They have some variety going on in a lot of their songs, something they lacked almost a few years ago.

I hope that is not the song title, then they should try to learn a bit Norwegian, but if it is not, then you need a Norwegian class or two...

<ontopic, if there is such a thing in this thread>
HL2 SP isn't the most important thing, the mods for MP are... And no, I'm not just talking about CS here. Ah, the time wasted with the 36 different HL1 mods I used to play...
</ontopic, if there is such a thing in this thread>
And, offtopically-wise speaking, Progenies is a great song, and Dimmu and Cradle in general are quite listenable, not the best bands ever, imho, but quite nice, and, like Opeth, make good coding music.
Obey the dragon thing. Or not. Or possibly just a bit.

Progenies of the Great Apocolypse is my favorite song from them. They used that song for the Theatrical trialer to HellBoy too.

The translation to Allehelgens Død i Helveds Rike I'm looking up right now. I ran into this one place and actually found something. What Dimmu Borgir may have done with "Allehelgens" is combine two words and made it one. They may have done the same thing with the song Vredesbyrd. Here's what I found in one site:
---------------------------------------------------------------
- Allehelgen: To the best of my knowledge this word directly translates into "Halloween", which doesn't really make much sense, so I took the liberty of breaking it into two words, Alle Helgen; All Saints.
Allehelgens Død i Helveds Rike
Death of All Saints in Hell's Domain
---------------------------------------------------------------
Well I went to another site to translate it manually:
http://www.translation-guide.com/fre...ian&to=English
And I typed Alle Helgens. It gave me "All The weekends"
Typing the whole song title (Splitting the first word) gave me this:
Alle helgens Død i Helveds Rike
All the weekend dead in Hell Rich
(Note: Død means dead or death. Also Helveds should translate to Hells since there is an 's' in the end. Helved also translated to Hell.)
So unless a couple of those words have more than one translation, I can't explain it. NoteMe would probably know if they have more than one translation. He's Norweigan.
[EDIT]: I see now. "Saint" isn't in their database. I tried English to Norweigan, typed in Saints, and it wasn't there. Does anyone know of any good Norweigan to English (and vice versa) online translator sites?

Because you're listening to way too much Boyzone and Backstreet Boys and Westlife.
I think I'm going to be sick from typing those names.
