FileSystemObject in Windows 98
Hey, all. I've recently written a program that runs beautifully on Windows 2000/XP. However, I also need it to run on Windows 98. I've tried to keep it as simple as possible during design, but when I try to run it on Win98, I get the dreaded ActiveX error 429 (could not create object).
Now...the program uses DAO 3.6 and the FSO. I've downloaded the appropriate libraries and runtimes and DLLs for both, and I am still getting the error.
Can anyone suggest anything?

Win98 is a different kernal then the NT kernal in 2000/XP so for
starters, you need to go through your entire program and make
sure its compatible.
1.) Verify any APIs being used are compatible with 98.
2.) You already installed DAO 3.6 so ok there.
3.) Check your references in the project. For ex. does the 98
machine have Excel if your program has a reference to Excel? Are
they the same version?
4.) Check to make sure that the machine you compiled on has the
same version of DAO as what is in your setup package and same
as what you downloaded.
5.) Make sure you have all the required references for FSO and if
it is compatible on 98.
