sentence....errr...term.

3. How long was it?

Nah, this question is really unfair. I doubt you could
find more than 30 people who know the answer. I only know
because my grandfather knew someone who knew someone....

That being the case Here Are The Answers:

1. Who was it? Thomas Hart Benton
2. When was it? March 3, 1833
3. How long was it? 34 Hours

Currently, the President is sworn in on Jan 20. This has
not always been the case. In Andrew Jackson's case, he was
sworn in on March 3, 1828 and March 4, 1832. Note the "4"
in the second term?

President Andrew Jackson was a deeply religious man. He
refused to take an oath on Sunday. Thus, from 12AM on
Sunday March 3,1832 to 10AM on Monday March 4, 1832 the
president of the US was the President Pro Tem of the Senate:

Thomas Hart Benton.

PS: He named his cat as ambassadore to the British
Empire. He didn't like the British.
