 10 000 char post size...
Is it a bit off? I posted a big blog in chit chat. And the pop up said that it was to big, so I did cut off a bit, and then it said it was 10001 chars, so I removed one. And then the pop up did not come up, but I got a "warning" screen telling me that max was 10000 chars. Then I did cut of about 4-5 more, and tried again. And I still got the "Max size is 10000 chars" Is it off, or was it just me?

Some special chars such as Line Break and double quote are sometime counted as more then one chars, so it could be that which is creating the inconsistency. Looking at the javascript function might reveal why it is doing so..
