    My new comp

    HP a750y:

    P4 3.2Ghz, 1 gig pc3200 400Mhz, twin 80Gb 7200 sata hds, double layer 16x dvd+/-r/rwdrive 128 Mb ati radeon x300 se, sb audigy 2 Zs, 19" lcd f1903 flat panel.

    Built by me:

    Intel P4 3.4GHz (775pin), 1GB DDR2, 1x250GB SATA Drive, DVD-ROM, DVD+-R(W), 256MB ATI Radeon X800, SB Speakers 2 satellite & sub woofer (v. cool ), 17" LCD, Green glowing lights inside system case

    Sounds nice. I was tempted to up to the 256MB ATI Radeon X600 and i probably could have if i opted for the 17" mon instead of the extra $160 i spent for the 19" Also wanted the p4 3.8Ghz but after my eyes saw it upped the total price by $700 my wallet ran away.

    I think the X300 should be fine for most tasks and a little gamming.
    Now i can finally play doom3 and callofduty.

    If you don't want to spend for the X800 (which is overpriced at present) definitely get your hands on an X600. Should only cost you €120 or so?

    Yeah I'm using the Catalyst drivers. The chipset drivers are normally faster than the card manufacturer's drivers I find...
