    Invisible posts.. ?

I'm just curious.. sometimes when I check the boards, it'll say theres a new post (the little icon is yellow instead of blue) and the last post is by such and such. But when I go into the board the post dosn't exist.

Do the mods have the ability to make invisible posts to normal members or something that effect the new post cookie even when normal users cant see them? It always seems to be a mod name as the last post when this happens.

If this is the case is there a fix for it? lol. I just find it annoying sometimes when I go to look at the forums and there isn't actually a new post. Not really anything big or concerning though

Are you sure that post doesn't belonge to any of the sub forums....like in the game section. There we have a sub section for posting games. So you won't see the new post unless you go into that sub section.

If you are talking about the Contest section, I guess the mods have a sub section there where we are not allowed. Because sometimes I see Electroman or someone have posted a new post, and if I click on the arrow (or what it is) on the right side, I am not allowed to go there.

No, there are no invisible posts within visible threads. There are private forums, but that is a different thing.

Generally when someone gets a notice showing that a moderator has posted and then doesn't find the post, it is because the moderator posted a message saying that thread was offtopic, spam, or some other violation. They then move the thread off the public board. As such, you would get a notice, but then find that you can't access the message. (You would get a message saying as such though).

If you didn't post a bad thread, then this is not what happened to you. If you can point out the specific thread that had the 'missing' post, we can look closer....

Humm, thats strange, because if a moderator posts in a invisible area it doesn't show for a normal member. Like if I was to post in the Sub Section Note just mentioned then you went to my profile it wouldn't tell you that was my last post it would point to the one before it. I'm pretty sure the same goes for hidden sections too.
More than likely its what Note mentioned about a visible sub forum causing it. Like if someone post in the World Events forum it makes the ChitChat forum show as new posts and the details of the last post for the world events one.

    yeah, what he said.....

I was so tempted to delete my post after posting it, just so it would send a notice, but then not be here....

I thought that would be cruel though

Lol well yeah it is the contest entry forums that I noticed it in last. So it must be you mods secret base causing it It isn't the subsection because when I go in it dosn't even show anything knew in it.

Just to go further it happened just a little bit ago by Pino in the contest forum. So did he make a post in your secret base not to long ago in there?

I've made a post in the secret base just a few minutes ago, I ask Note to test it but I think he's died so if you check it out now does it say I posted at 10:10 (GMT) ?

Thats what I have said all along....if a mod posts in a secret sub section, then we can see the link on the right side to that post, but we can't get into it....
