HTML or Javascript: different input text on screen?
Hi Everyone,
I am not sure there is a simple solution here, but what I am trying to do is emphasis a certain word from the users' input. For instance,
When I type "Standy and Kirk", it would appear as
Standy and Kirk on the input textbox.
Yet, I don't want the value of the input tag become "Standy <b><i>and</i></b> Kirk "
Can anyone help me here? Thank you!
Cheers,
Kell

I'm sorry but I don't think that inputs support HTML, it's just plain text.

I'm not quite sure I understand what you want to do. Do you have a <textarea> and as the user types you want some words to become bold?
Or are you submitting text from a <textarea> and then, when the text shows up on the page (after beeing submited) you want some words to be bold?
Never argue with fools, they will only drag you down to their level, and beat you with experience.

A: The latter thinks there's 1000 bytes in a kilobyte, while the former is sure there's 1024 meters in a kilometer

I think he has a search input and wants to highlight keywords.
I'm afraid that's not possible with a normal input. Which means that there's no portable solution.
