    Dynamic reports (All feedback welcome)

    I have VS.net 2003 with Crystal.

I have been asked to develop an application which will allow users not just to generate reports but also to alter their layout.
This means that the users have to be able to choose a source for a report dynamically and then bind that to a report and choose which fields to appear on the report and where.

This sounds like a bit ambitous to me and I was wondering if it is possible ?

    Any feedback is welcome.

I tried that once. You almost have to set up each detail line in the report as a generic text field. Then your code has to do all the formatting, etc.If there is no security involved (payroll, etc) why not just teach them how to use CR?

Yes, its allot of work, but possible usiong the correct version of CR.
I think you need CR Developer or CR Enterprize in order to do it,
but I could be wrong. Check it the CR site Crystal Reports (Business Objects)
