Open Access DB Tabels From Win XP
hello
Unable to open database with full access to tables through
shift / enter function after Microsoft XP was installed.
Database was created in Access 2000 with a main
switchboard and limited menu & toolbar options. How can I
access the database tables, form design to make changes
and compress database?

Shift locked db --- do you mean xp office -- ie Access 2003 ?
If so you need to convert the db up.
If not, then someone wanted it locked for security reasons. Shift lock should still work, but this can be disabled to make sure you cannot use shift to stop it.
There should be some posts in the forum (have a search - button at the top) with relevant vba coding to adding/set/unset the relevant property.

You mean like when you select the db shortcut icon and hold down
the shift key. Then double click it or press enter?
If I remember correctly, its a hidden property that can be set to
disable/enable the shift key at startup. Its called the
AllowBypassKey property. I forgot where you set it, but thats the
property you need to enable.
