everyone leave their computers on and logged in for 24 hours or so. that'll build up user count, and we could 'guess' what time zone they were in to calculate the winning timezone.
start at midnite in your time zone, or something like that.
highest 3 hour period WINS

not if you leave it on the "who's on-line" page, that refreshes every minute .

can you log on more than once at the same time? i think that you can be a guest at the same time, but don't know about a member.

Hasn't anybody wondered about that date. Why were there so many people online at Christmas?

they may have an IP check turned on preventing it.
well, cookies, then.
open a new window, click logoff, and it logs you out of the other window, too. checks cookies each click.
we'd have to do it legit-like. pick a time-slot, and get online.

The last time this was brought up, I think we agreed that we should have a forum-wide announcement so that everyone finds out about it and comes.
Then, there were the time zone differences as well.
PLUS, whether weekends would be a good time or not, as surprisingly, some of the members here actually have lives.
If you can resolve these issues, post in the feedback forum, ask brad to make an announcement.

when an administrator makes an announcment they can put in HTML code right? because everyone when they origionally signed up it asked them what time zone they were in. why could it not automaticly tell you the time in your time zone?

It's not about the information of time zones. People who own a computer usually know what time it is where they are.
If it's a convenient time for someone in the US, it's not convenient for someone in the UK or Australia. And if it's convenient for the UK, then it's not convenient for US or Australia.
Hell, even if it's convenient for Australia, it's still not convenient for Australia. They find everything inconvenient.

there are some reflections that come to my mind:
1.- time zones can be tricky but, if we consider that when in USA and the rest of the americas its around noon, in europe its around time to leave work. So for this instance, the best time to do it is when its morning in USA and the americas and early afternoon in europe.
2.- lets not do it around holidays or weekends because this forum is also hit by students and people that like to socialize outside their own bedroom.
So, considering this points, how about some wednesday because you can have monday and tuesday to remind people and its not thursday when a pint is looked with good eyes after work. So no distractions can be held.
the time can be discussed, maybe 4pm GMT seems good, if you have a -6 GMT or a -5 GMT time zone in USA you can make it pretty well.
