My cool new pc - for free!!!!
Remember the lovely cool brand spanking new computer I built? Well, because I brought it into work to do some of my projects faster in work, I don't have to pay for it.
So. Word to the wise. Build yourself a horrendously overspecced computer, and bring it to work so that you can do your work faster. Then your boss might pay for it

Yeah but then your boss owns it! Means you can't take it home no more
Sounds like you guys do all your own tech support? We don. We have to make a phone call to a mental defective who then asks another mental defective to come out to us after waiting a few days. Then they **** our systems up even more and bugger of again.
I don't live here any more.

Yes ... and because of your special relationship with your boss you wont be able to sit down.
Programming while standing up is rather difficult.
