Should be simple for you lot

Hey ya'll,
I reckon that this question should be fairly simple for you lot, so here goes. I'm tryin to make a program that will stop my isp from disconnecting me every 2 hours.

Now I know what you're gonna say, "theres already a program that will do that". I know this but I would like to make my own program to do this.

Why does it disconnect you? For inactivity, or some other
reason?

If it's for inactivity, then just have a simple program
that does a ping or a traceroute to some machine on the
internet every 90 minutes or so.
