Thread: Can VS.NET be installed while having VS 6.0 installed?

    Hi - can the new beta 1 of Visual Studio.net be installed on a system containing Visual Studio 6.0.

    Thanks

    I.e will certain files be overwritten and so effect one another

    Yes it can, I chose not to do this as i'm releasing production apps. BUT when I installed Beta 1 at the end of the install it described the switching options for users of multiple versions of visual studio...

    I wouldn't recommend it though!!

    Hi,
    As Crispin pointed out, it is not recommended.

    However, , I have both running on my system and the only thing that doesn't work any more in Visual Studio is VS Installer for app deployment (P&D Wizard still works though).

    Apart from that I have had no problems whatsoever.
