Connecting my P.A. to my computer

    So here it is:

I have a P.A.(it's kinda of a amplificator with a mixer already in it) that has an RCA slot that is used to record things to whatever you connect into it. So i want to connect it to my computer.

Now, I can buy a special cable and connect it to my soundcard. The thing is my soundcard is actually really really bad. Won't it affect the quality of the sound?

you can connect the line out of the mixer to the line in jacks of the sound card. as long as you are sampling at a reasonably high rate, the sound quality recorded won't suffer. might not sound too good with your soundcard, but you can burn it to CD and replay it on good equipment with no problem. I've recorded hours of music directly from the radio, and output it thru a fibre optic cable to a digital amplifier, and it sounded great. Even files from years ago using crummy soundcards. Sounded better than they ever did before! made me real glad I saved them. (live music from my band)
