It is probably a diferent macro that is failing, which could be in an add-in or in the Auto-start template file.
To see if it is an add-in, go to "Tools" - "Add-ins". If there are any items ticked then un-tick them, and close & re-start Excel. If the error is still there (or nothing was ticked to start with) then Add-ins arent the problem.
I cant remember what the auto-start template file is called, but it is loaded each time Excel starts, and could well be causing the issue if code has been added to it. I think it is something like AutoStart.xls, and is stored somewhere in the Office folder within program files.
