Would anybody here have liked the Matrix if it didn't have the flashy visuals?

I loved the story more than the effects, but I don't think the movie would have made anywhere as much money as it did without the effects. It was just an awesome idea in my opinion and I can't wait to see the sequel.

Clearly you guys have no idea, just what l would expect
1. Once Were Warriors.
2. Alien.
3. Exorcist.
The Matrix relied on special effects and totally distorted William Gibson's story.

Is there a book Jethro? I'd love to read it if there is, I imagine saying I loved the story was the wrong thing to say. I guess it was the idea that I liked more.

Some people have told me they don't think a fat penguin really embodies the grace of Linux, which just tells me they have never seen a angry penguin charging at them in excess of 100mph. They'd be a lot more careful about what they say if they had.

Got to agree, The Usual Suspects is a damn fine movie. He was good in American Beauty too. I got dragged along to see that with my ex thinking it was some kind of romantic thing, but it was actually really good.

I just rented "Being John Malkovich" this past weekend. It was pretty cool, but a little over-rated. My fiance hated it. It was worth a couple of laughs.
